Questions people ask

Can a protest raise my value?

No. Texas law doesn't let the review board set your value higher than the value on your notice. The worst case is that your value stays the same.

How much does it cost?

Nothing up front. If your value goes down, our fee is 30% of the tax you save that year. If it doesn't go down, you pay $0. For example, if you save $1,000, you pay us $300 and keep $700.

What do I have to do?

Sign one form online. It's the state's Form 50-162, Appointment of Agent. It lets us talk to the appraisal district for you. We file, build the case and go to the hearing. You don't have to show up.

When is the deadline?

May 15, or 30 days after your notice is mailed, if that's later. Most notices arrive in April. Sign up early and we're ready the day yours comes.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. Tell us, or file a written revocation of the form with your appraisal district. If we already filed your protest for this year, our 30% fee still applies to that year's savings. If your value doesn't go down, you still pay $0.
